The international workshop learning Participatory Action-Oriented Improvement

　PAOT is practical safety and health improvement program.

　 Participatory Action-Oriented Training （PAOT）is a practical improvement approach widely applied in many fields. This approach is based on the WISE (Work Improvement in Small Enterprises) program developed by the International Labour Office in 1980’s. PAOT is widely applied in the fields of labor, life, and environment. One typical program is the WIND (Work Improvement in Neighborhood Development) program for farmers that started the Mekong Delta.

　Learning with health care workers in Vietnam.

　The Mekong Delta Program organized in Vietnam every year has provided an opportunity for learning the essential PAOT methodology. Recently we conduct the workshop on healthcare work.
The participants learn how to be a good PAOT facilitator while training and healthcare workers in Vietnam, learn how to improve their working conditions. Mutual learning between international participants and local people is therefore a very unique feature of the Mekong Delta Program.

　Feel real PAOT activity.

This year, our program will be more practical, since we invite Dr. Ton That Khai, who is the developer of the WIND program as a core trainer. We also have a special program of visiting agriculture fields. When you join this program, we are sure that you can have a direct touch a growing dynamism of PAOT activities while learning how to organize a PAOT workshop.

100%: Bangladesh,Cambodia,India,Indonesia,Laos,Malaysia,Mongolia,Myanmar,Nepal and Philippines.

The guidelines for applicants of Mekong Delta 2019

The aim of the training course
1. Learning methodology of Participatory Action-Oriented Training.
2. Promoting participatory improvements in the world.

18 August Opening ceremony, Mini PAOT international workshop
19 August Learning PAOT methodology
20 August Collecting good examples and the workshop preparation
21 August The workshop preparation and rehearsal
22 August The WISE workshop for healthcare workers.
23 August Farm visit, sightseeing in Can Tho City, Closing ceremony
24 August 8 :00 Departure from Can Tho City
12:00 Ho Chi MInh City(International participants either visit city or take a return flight)

(It including hotel and transportation fees during the whole training period in Can Tho City. Not covering air tickets and accidents insurance costs etc.）

【Safety measures】
Mekong Delta Training is not a study tour. This is a training course organized by the initiative of the steering committee.
The steering committee does not compensate for any accident during the Mekong Delta 2019 program. Every participant should take the own responsibility of safety measures.
The steering committee is doing its best to avoid unexpected accidents. However, we cannot compensate for participant’s sudden accidents. Therefore, the accident insurance coverage should be secured by individual responsibility.
